Greetings to All, I write to you from Jacksonville, Florida. I am here to serve you on Earth and in Heaven, in the love and light of the One Infinite Creator. My name is Latisha, though I have chosen the name Seraphim Sophia for my online presence on this earth. I created this blog as a space to share insights I’ve discovered within the Oahspe. There’s no set order in how I present its wisdom—when I’m inspired by certain topics or chapters, I’ll share the light they hold. I hope everyone takes the time to read, reflect, and study the material for deeper understanding and revelation beyond what I have provided. My only desire is to share the light, and may it find those who resonate with the knowledge in this spiritual book.
Chapter 1 of Sethantes describes what Oahspe presents as a very early stage in Earth’s spiritual history. Rather than beginning with human civilization, the chapter begins in the heavenly or spiritual realm associated with Earth. It describes angels arriving from higher celestial regions, some becoming bound to Earth, and the establishment of an organized heavenly kingdom intended to guide both spirits and mortals.
In simple terms, this chapter is explaining how Earth received its first organized spiritual administration according to Oahspe’s cosmology.
The chapter opens with angels gathering at Hored, described as:
“In the beginning of the inhabitation of the earth, the angels of heaven assembled in Hored, a heavenly plateau resting on the earth. — Sethantes 1:1
This is important because Oahspe is not describing Hored as an ordinary physical mountain or city. It belongs to the heavenly realm associated with Earth. Later in the chapter this realm is identified as atmospherea, the lower heaven connected with the corporeal Earth.
Sethantes is an archangel who had originally come from much higher heavenly regions. He explains that he and millions of angels had traveled from distant heavens to experience the newly inhabited “red star,” Earth.
Sethantes explains that Jehovih had permitted the angels to come and experience the new world:
“Behold, we have come from distant heavens; by the voice of Jehovih we came to partake of the glory of the red star, the earth. Jehovih said to us: Come and enjoy the new world I have created. Partake of all its fruits, except of the tree of knowledge, which is the fountain of life. Do not partake of this, lest you die. — Sethantes 1:3
The angels were not originally Earth spirits. They had come from what Oahspe calls the etherean heavens, higher celestial regions beyond Earth’s atmospherean heaven. I have come to understand that there are countless worlds in the Universe, and there are so many worlds that are inhabited. The angels of heaven came as visitors or travelers from other worlds, and they come to Earth to experience life. We did the same thing. But something unexpected happened. Some angels became bound to Earth. When I think about this, I realize how many of us have fallen into spiritual bondage. On my spiritual journey, I’ve noticed that many souls don’t seek higher realms simply because they’re unaware of them. This realization makes it clear how people can become bound to the lower heavens of earth. It seems that for many, moving upward and onward toward ascension in their spiritual path takes time. I'm glad I became awakened to higher realms on Earth and beyond. So, I try my best to gain spiritual knowledge by seeking the Creator of All.
In this chapter Sethantes says the angels were warned not to partake of the “tree of knowledge,” described as the “fountain of life.” Yet the voice of Earth encouraged them to partake. When I read this, I thought about the angels of heaven taking on a physical body.
The chapter then says:
“And many did not obey the voice of the Father, and are now bound by the tie of life, which is in the blood— Sethantes 1:5
For modern comprehension, this can be understood within Oahspe’s own cosmology as describing spiritual beings becoming strongly attached to corporeal life.
Earth’s physical world—its biological life, sensations, desires and material conditions—created an attachment powerful enough that some of these heavenly visitors could no longer easily return to their former higher state.
This introduces one of the central themes of Oahspe: spirits can become spiritually earthbound through attachment to corporeal existence. It seems like the issue is attachment to earthly desires. The angels became so entangled with physical life that they “fell from their high estate.” Today, many people have drifted away from their higher selves, unaware of their spiritual nature and instead living through their carnal instincts. It's clear that redemption was needed in the beginning to raise those who had fallen in consciousness. I suppose that was the plan from the very beginning. When I reflect deeply on life on Earth, it feels like witnessing the shift in human consciousness between higher and lower levels. It’s like observing the developmental stages of human awareness as they relate to spiritual growth over time. We move forward through different densities of light. All is Light, meaning every visible and invisible world within the Universe is made of the Creator’s Light. It seems that when we travel to different worlds in the universe, each planet has something unique to offer within its own realm. The Creator told us to explore the Earth and that's exactly what we are doing. We are spiritual beings having a physical experience on Earth. We take part in many things on this earth, both good (positive) and bad (negative). It’s clear that we’ve all been given free will, and we’re experiencing all that the world has to offer while learning from it along the way.
I always try to reflect upon my original state of being who operates from a higher level of consciousness. Now that I’ve experienced a spiritual awakening, my goal is to continue growing and moving toward a higher state of being. When I had analyzed my own life, I could see the inner darkness within Self. The inner darkness stemmed from not knowing or understanding my higher self. I didn’t realize the higher light that was within me. I wanted to shift my consciousness and reconnect with my higher self, so I invited the Light of the Creator to descend upon me. I hoped the Creator would send holy angels and messengers to lift me to a higher level of consciousness, freeing me from spiritual bondage to Earth’s lower heavens so I could ascend to Paradise. My desire is to rise beyond Earth and into the higher heavens. In my own consciousness, I see that in the beginning the angels descended from the higher heavens, existing in a state of elevated awareness as they dwelled in the heavens of the Earth. While living on Earth and going through various experiences, they became attached to earthly things, leading to a lower level of awareness, and ultimately fell from a higher state of consciousness to a lower one. Based upon my own experiences in life I can understand the basic concept.
Jehovih then speaks to Sethantes:
“And the voice of Jehovih came to me, saying: Sethantes, My son, behold, in My etherean heavens I gave into your charge millions of angels, whom you have brought to the earth, and they have fallen from their high estate. Go, deliver them— Sethantes 1:6
Sethantes has been given a new mission; instead of leading an excursion to Earth, he is now tasked with helping to deliver and spiritually uplift the beings who have become bound to it. This is interesting to me because he brought the millions of souls to earth and now, he is in charge of delivering them not abandoning them. They all need to be raised up to their original state of being which is the higher self. The deeper point of Chapter 1 is responsibility and rescue. Sethanates, as a leader in charge, was commissioned to remain connected with Earth and establish a heavenly kingdom dedicated to their deliverance and the spiritual advancement of both angels and mortals.
Jehovih instructs Sethantes to gather his angelic hosts at Hored. There he will be appointed God of the heavens belonging to Earth, with responsibility for both angels and mortals. While I was learning from the framework of Oahspe: “God” here is not Jehovih, the Infinite Creator. Sethantes is a spiritual being who is being appointed to an office. Jehovih remains the Supreme Creator above him. It's so very important to establish Jehovih in this book as the Creator of All, the Great Spirit.
Sethantes counts the angels gathered in Hored:
“Meanwhile I had the angels of Hored numbered, and there were twenty-seven million six hundred thousand, being the same who were on an excursion in my charge when the voice of Jehovih commanded us to visit the earth. — Sethantes 1:9
These angels are the same beings who had accompanied him on the journey to Earth. Then something extraordinary appears in the heavens. A tremendous light begins descending toward Hored.
Sethantes describes it as:
“The light above descended fast toward us; like a ship of fire, it came nearer and nearer, till we saw it was far wider than the place of Hored and all my angel hosts. — Sethantes 1:10
The object is enormous, larger than Hored and large enough to encompass the immense gathering of angels. From this great celestial light emerge one million archangels from the higher etherean heavens. They have come from the arc of Wan, from the Hosts of A’ji, associated with the orbit of Tow’sang in etherea. They carry ceremonial clothing, crowns and insignia representing the authority of the higher heavenly administration. At their head are Etisyai and her brother Ya’tiahaga, commissioners from the etherean heaven.
Etisyai announces the purpose of their arrival. She greets Sethantes as the one who will become:
“When they came near me, Etisyai gave the sign of Jehovih’s name, greeting, halting, and saying: All hail! In Jehovih’s name, and in the love of Harmuts, Orian Chief, we come to greet you, first God of the lower heaven, belonging to the corporeal earth! — Sethantes 1:12
There is the corporeal Earth, the physical world experienced by mortals. Associated with Earth is a lower spiritual heaven, atmospherea. Beyond that are the much greater etherean heavens, from which Etisyai and the archangels have descended. So, the chapter portrays a layered universe in which beings can travel between different heavenly regions.
Etisyai establishes a throne in Hored. The millions of angels arrange themselves to witness what amounts to a heavenly inauguration ceremony. The scene is filled with extraordinary light. Columns of fire appear in different colors, shades and tints. Etisyai stands before the hosts and invokes Jehovih. She then crowns Sethantes. Through this ceremony Sethantes is raised from archangel to the office of God of Earth’s lower heaven.
The crowd responds:
“ARISE, O MY SON, SON OF JEHOVIH! Instantly there arose from the millions of souls one universal shout: All hail, O Son of Jehovih! And God rose up, having the crown on his head, and the people cheered him lustily, for he was well beloved. — Sethantes 1:18
Sethantes becomes an appointed representative responsible for administering the heavenly kingdom surrounding Earth.
Sethantes had already selected five chief Lords. Etisyai now crowns them as well.
They are appointed:
“Again Etisyai raised her right hand, saying: O JEHOVIH! ALMIGHTY! FROM WHOM ALL GLORIES EMANATE! IN YOUR NAME, THESE YOUR SONS, I CROWN, LORDS OF THE EARTH, AND OF THE WATERS OF THE EARTH! FROM THE ORIAN CHIEF HARMUTS! BY MY COMMISSION I RAISE THEM TO THE RANK OF LORDS FOR KINGDOMS OF HEAVEN! PEACE! WISDOM! LOVE! POWER! — Sethantes 1:20
A hierarchy is therefore being established. Jehovih is the Infinite Creator. Sethantes, now called God, governs the atmospherean heaven associated with Earth. Under him are five Lords, who will establish kingdoms associated more directly with the physical Earth and humanity. The Lords purpose is spiritual instruction. Jehovih later tells them that they are to teach mortals about the Creator and the everlasting heavenly kingdoms.
One of the most spiritually significant moments occurs when Etisyai becomes surrounded by a golden light.
The text says:
“And a fleece of golden hue descended from above and encompassed Etisyai, and she was like a central star with rays of light emanating. She was entranced by Jehovih. Through her the Creator spoke, saying:” — Sethantes 1:27
Etisyai therefore functions as a vessel through which Jehovih communicates. The message that follows explains an important principle of spiritual development.
Jehovih tells Sethantes:
“My Son, now God, I brought you forth out of corpor, quickened into life everlasting. By faith I inspired you to do whatever you have done. Faith I gave to you, as the tree on which ALL PERFECTION is the fruit. By that faith within man, which nurtures the I AM within himself to perfection, he becomes My Son, doing by virtue of My presence. According to your wisdom and love I have given you strength; and by your strength, raised you up. ” — Sethantes 1:28
This shifts into inner spiritual development. There is an “I AM within” that can be nurtured toward greater spiritual perfection. Faith, wisdom, love and strength become the means by which consciousness rises. As I reflect more on Sethantes and the angels he brought to Earth to experience corporeal life, I see it as part of the Creator’s plan for both their descent and eventual ascent. He would lead humanity from their physical, earthly lives into a everlasting spiritual existence. Overall, the plan describes a cycle of descent into corporeal existence and eventual ascent back toward the higher heavens. When we come to understand life on Earth and seek spiritual insight into why we are here, the Creator reveals through His light that we are on a spiritual journey. As heavenly beings, we descended from etherea, became involved with the conditions of physical life, and will be ultimately brought forth from our earthly reality into a conscious spiritual existence. The spiritual journey can therefore be envisioned as Etherea → Earth → corporeal life → emergence from corpor → awakening into spiritual life → atmospherea → continued spiritual growth → eventual return & ascension to the higher etherean realms.
Jehovih then explains the structure Sethantes is to govern:
“And your kingdom shall be like two kingdoms: One here with the hosts of heaven, and one on the earth, over these your Lords. For you are the judgment seat and creator of order over the whole earth, and in the heaven belonging to the earth. — Sethantes 1:30
There are two interconnected kingdoms:
The heavenly kingdom: Sethantes governs angels and spirits in the atmospherean heaven belonging to Earth.
The earthly kingdom: The Lords work closer to corporeal humanity, establishing spiritual order and teaching mortals.
It’s amazing to know that human civilization exists side by side with an unseen spiritual realm. Many people remain unaware of the heavens on Earth, simply because their focus stays on worldly matters rather than spiritual matters. Once I became aware, I wanted to understand the structure of heaven —how everything is arranged there and how it manifests on Earth. Oahspe has opened my mind to a greater reality. Heaven isn’t far away; it’s right here within Earth, just in a higher realm.
Sethantes is then clothed in what the text calls the golden fleece and “raiment of the upper heaven.” The Lords receive shining garments of silver and gold. These garments appear to represent more than clothing. Within the imagery of the chapter, they signify spiritual office, authority and the higher heavenly state from which their commission originates. Their authority comes through Jehovih.
Jehovih gives the Lords their mission:
“Then Jehovih spoke to the Lords, saying: As God has built a kingdom in Hored, and reigns over this heaven, and over you and your helpmates, so shall you build kingdoms on the earth, and you shall rule over mortals in My name, teaching them about Me and My everlasting kingdoms in the firmament above. In testimony of My voice, receive this raiment of silver and gold from My archangels.1:34
The purpose of the heavenly organization is connected with human spiritual education and development. Heavenly beings are assigned to assist humanity's growth. When I reflect upon this, we are never truly alone, God is with us always. It's so wonderful to see that kingdoms are built in the spiritual realm just like they are built on the Earth. There’s an entire spiritual civilization operating within the spiritual world of Earth, and in heaven, everything follows a divine order. Seeing the establishment of the first kingdom in heaven really puts a lot into perspective for me, especially when I think about how everything began on Earth. I like to see things from the spiritual realm first and then I can visualize how things have become manifested in the physical world. It's simply amazing and it brings me joy. I keep seeking the light of the Creator, looking up to the heights of heaven and saying, "Give me more light, O Creator of all."
Etisyai Demonstrates Humility
The chapter ends with a beautiful symbolic moment. After accomplishing her mission, Etisyai, the powerful etherean archangel who crowned Sethantes sits at the foot of his throne.
Sethantes says:
“God said: Behold, she who is greatest makes herself least of all. Arise, O Daughter of Jehovih, and enjoy my kingdom, for it is Jehovih’s also. And God came down from the judgment seat and took Etisyai’s hand and she rose up, at which point God proclaimed the freedom of the hour. Thus was established the first throne of God in these heavens. And now all of the hosts mingled together, angels and archangels, joyfully.” — Sethantes 1:38
The highly developed Etherean, the daughter of Jehovih Etisyai, willingly becomes the servant. Sethantes responds by leaving his judgment seat, taking Etisyai by the hand and inviting her to share in the kingdom. The chapter then concludes with angels and archangels mingling together joyfully.
The Mission of Etisyai
In Chapter 1 of Sethantes, Etisyai enters the account with a very specific mission from the higher etherean heavens. Before she even appears, Jehovih tells Sethantes that He will bring His “high-raised Goddess, Etisyai,” who is identified as the chief factor of Harmuts, and that she will crown Sethantes in Jehovih's name as God of Heaven and Earth (Sethantes 1:7). The footnote explains “chief factor” as a title and position of responsibility in the etherean worlds. Etisyai is therefore not presented as an ordinary visiting angel. She comes from a higher heavenly administration carrying authority and a commission to formally establish the new government of Earth's lower heaven.
Etisyai's arrival is presented as an immense heavenly event. A great light “like a sun” descends from the firmament toward Hored, becoming “like a ship of fire” as it approaches (Sethantes 1:8–10). From this great light emerge one million archangels from the arc of Wan, in the Hosts of A'ji, in the orbit of Tow'sang in etherea. They carry crowns, regalia, and official insignia from Harmuts, the Orian Chief. At the forefront are Etisyai and her brother Ya'tiahaga, specifically identified as “commissioners from the etherean heaven” (Sethantes 1:11). Etisyai therefore arrives as the leading representative of an enormous etherean delegation sent to Hored for the establishment of Earth's new heavenly kingdom.
Upon approaching Sethantes, Etisyai gives the sign of Jehovih's name and formally greets him in Jehovih's name and in the love of Harmuts. Significantly, she addresses Sethantes as the “first God of the lower heaven, belonging to the corporeal earth” (Sethantes 1:12). Her words announce the nature of the office that is about to be established. This is not the position of the Infinite Creator, Jehovih; it is an appointed office governing the lower heaven associated with Earth. Etisyai has come from the higher etherean administration to formally authorize and inaugurate that office.
One of Etisyai's most important acts follows immediately. She declares, “In Your name, O Jehovih, I found here a throne!” (Sethantes 1:14). The accompanying note defines “found” as “establish, create.” The text then says that she caused the form and substance of the throne to rise (Sethantes 1:15). Etisyai therefore does not merely attend Sethantes' coronation; according to the text, she actually establishes the throne itself. She ascends upon it with Ya'tiahaga while the other archangels arrange themselves in a crescent before the throne carrying crowns and diadems. The hosts of Sethantes take their places as witnesses, while brilliant columns of colored fire illuminate the heavenly assembly.
Once everything is prepared, Etisyai performs the coronation. Standing “brilliant like a star,” she raises her right hand and invokes Jehovih, declaring that in Jehovih's name she crowns Sethantes and raises him, under the authority represented by Harmuts, to the rank of God (Sethantes 1:16). Her proclamation ends with four principles that accompany his heavenly office: Peace, Wisdom, Love, and Power. Etisyai then raises the crown before the assembled millions so that everyone may witness the ceremony. After she gives the sign of Jehovih above it, a brilliant flame of light proceeds from the crown. She places it upon Sethantes' head and commands him to arise as a Son of Jehovih (Sethantes 1:17–18). The millions assembled at Hored respond with a universal celebration.
Etisyai's mission extends beyond Sethantes. She next commands that his five chief Lords be brought before her so that she may crown them also (Sethantes 1:19). Again invoking Jehovih, she declares that she is acting “by my commission” as she raises these five beings to the rank of Lords for the kingdoms of heaven (Sethantes 1:20). She personally places the crowns upon their heads and commissions them as Lords of Jehovih and Lords under God, giving them dominion over the Earth and its waters “in love, wisdom, and power” (Sethantes 1:21–22). Her mission therefore establishes not only Earth's first God but also the subordinate Lords through whom the earthly portion of the new administration will operate.
Etisyai then administers what the text identifies as their oath of office. She commands God and the Lords to give the sign of Jehovih's name before the assembled heavenly hosts (Sethantes 1:23–25). This shows that her function is much more than ceremonial. She establishes the throne, crowns its officers, defines their authority, and oversees their oath before the witnesses of heaven. In modern terms, Etisyai functions almost like a high commissioner from the superior heavenly government, formally installing a new administration in a lower realm.
The most extraordinary portion of Etisyai's mission begins when she announces, “Behold the All Light, Jehovih, encompasses me. My voice shall be His voice. By the glory of Faith in Him, I am One with the Father” (Sethantes 1:26). A golden fleece then descends and surrounds her. She becomes “like a central star with rays of light emanating,” and the text states plainly that Etisyai becomes entranced by Jehovih and the Creator speaks through her (Sethantes 1:27). At this point, Etisyai becomes the vessel through whom Jehovih personally delivers the charge and instructions for Earth's newly established heavenly government.
Through Etisyai, Jehovih explains Sethantes' spiritual elevation, telling him that he was brought “forth out of corpor” and “quickened into life everlasting.” Jehovih teaches that faith nurtures the I AM within toward perfection and explains that Sethantes has been raised according to his wisdom, love, and strength (Sethantes 1:28). Through Etisyai, Jehovih then officially gives Sethantes a kingdom in atmospherea and authorizes him to dispense wisdom and laws and appoint officers in Jehovih's name (Sethantes 1:29).
The governmental structure of the new kingdom is also revealed through Etisyai. Jehovih explains that Sethantes' kingdom will function as two interconnected kingdoms: one among the heavenly hosts and another associated with the Earth under the five Lords. Sethantes is appointed as the judgment seat and organizer of order over the Earth and “the heaven belonging to the earth” (Sethantes 1:30). Etisyai's mission therefore establishes the bridge between the higher etherean administration and the newly organized atmospherean and earthly administration.
Still speaking through Etisyai, Jehovih commands Sethantes to stretch forth his hand and clothe himself in the golden fleece (Sethantes 1:31). Sethantes responds in faith, and the archangels who accompanied Etisyai cast upward the raiment and regalia they had brought from their etherean arc in A'ji. The substance flies toward Sethantes and encompasses him in the “raiment of the upper heaven” (Sethantes 1:32–33). The Lords are then instructed concerning their own mission: they are to establish kingdoms upon Earth, work among mortals in Jehovih's name, and teach humanity about Jehovih and the everlasting heavenly kingdoms (Sethantes 1:34). Etisyai's accompanying archangels then clothe the Lords in shining raiment (Sethantes 1:35).
Etisyai's final act completes the transfer of authority. Still entranced, she comes down from the throne while Jehovih declares through her that although His Daughter Etisyai will depart, He will remain with God and the Lords forever. Etisyai then takes Sethantes by the hand and personally leads him to the center of the throne, telling him: “Sit on this throne for it is your Father's kingdom in the lower heaven of the earth!” (Sethantes 1:36). This is the culmination of her commission. The throne she established at the beginning of the ceremony is now formally occupied by the God appointed to govern Earth's lower heaven.
Once Sethantes sits upon the throne, Etisyai's entrancement ends. The Light of Jehovih leaves her and settles upon God and the Lords. Then something remarkable happens: Etisyai sits at the foot of the throne, and the other archangels immediately sit down with her (Sethantes 1:37). The high-raised Goddess who descended from etherea, established the throne, crowned God, crowned the Lords, administered their oath, served as the voice of Jehovih, and delivered the Creator's commission now voluntarily takes the lowest position before the throne she established.
Sethantes immediately recognizes the meaning of her action and declares: “Behold, she who is greatest makes herself least of all.” He leaves the judgment seat, takes Etisyai by the hand, raises her, and invites her to enjoy the kingdom because it belongs to Jehovih as well (Sethantes 1:38). Sethantes then proclaims the freedom of the hour. With this, Oahspe declares that the first throne of God in these heavens had been established, and the hosts of angels and archangels mingle together joyfully. -Seraphim Sophia (Latisha Whitfield)
